3DX-RAY to unveil next generation FlatScan POD at Counter Terror Expo 2010. Updated POD system features enhanced design, longer battery life and near 20% weight reduction.
3DX-RAY will be showcasing the next generation of its innovative FlatScan POD portable baggage security inspection system on its stand at the Counter Terror Expo in London, 14-15 April 2010. The new FlatScan POD has been remodelled to feature a more ergonomic design – with a higher work platform and a pull out drawer to insert the baggage rather than the ‘cabinet’ design of the first generation POD. The new model also delivers a longer battery life and a near 20% reduction in overall weight.
“Through working closely with our customers we have been able to deliver a significant upgrade to the FlatScan POD system, based on direct feedback from operatives using the POD in the field,” commented Nick Fox, CTO of 3DX-RAY. “The updated features further enhance the portability, usability and battery life of the FlatScan POD, extending the range and possible deployments for the system.”
The FlatScan POD is a mobile security x-ray baggage screening system that can easily be moved from venue to venue. It is ideal for use in busy mass transit locations, public buildings, public events and for non-destructive testing. The battery powered system offers the clearest images available from any x-ray system in its class.
Already in use in railway stations across the UK, the FlatScan POD is also suitable for use at customs or border control, in stadia or in public or corporate buildings.
At the Counter Terror Expo 3DX-RAY will also be displaying its other security product ranges: The SVXi small vehicle inspection system, the FlatScan-TPXi x-ray panel and the AXIS 3D baggage scanner.
